Bulgarian International, Georgi Peev, has signed with Russian Premier League club, Amkar. Peev is expected to adapt quickly to the new surroundings as there are already three fellow Bulgarians, Zahari Sirakov, Evgeni Yordanov and Martin Kushev, playing for the club. In an interview Peev said: “As soon as the opportunity with Amkar became apparent I made contact with Zahari Sirakov whom I know well from our time with the Bulgarian National Team. He provided me with full details about the club, its infrastructure, the squad and about the city. It is clear that I am joining a very solid and ambitious club.”
Peev moves to Russia after spending almost six years with Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev for whom he became Ukrainian Premier League Champion three times, was twice a runner-up in the league and won the cup on two occasions. During that time Peev appeared 22 times in the UEFA Champions’ League and played 42 times for the Bulgarian National Team.
Peev added: “Kiev will always be in my heart and I am fallen in love with the Ukrainian capital, but I don’t want to live in the past and I must look forward.”
