A season and a half after signing his first professional contract, Alen Coralic has now concluded a contract with NK Domzale. The 2007 Slovenian League champions are on track to retain the League title as they are currently sitting top of the First Division table with an 8-point lead from the second placed Gorica.
Coralic joins Domzale with an impressive record so far this season of 16 games and 4 goals. All 4 goals were scored in October in a crazy three-game period. Coralic came on as a substitute in all three games to score the four goals, which is an amazing statistic given that he played as a midfielder and in those three games Coralic played a total of only 93 minutes. An even more astounding fact is that last season Coralic scored two goals and those two goals were also scored in the month of October. Let’s hope that he will not have to wait until October 2008 to go into another wild scoring spree. One thing is certain, Coralic is making fantastic progress and it is just a matter of time before he adds to his impressive goal scoring tally as a midfielder.
With Domzale almost guaranteed to win the league title, a place in next season’s UEFA Champions’ League is being reserved for the club. Alen Coralic’s young career has progressed at unbelievable speed and he will be hoping this to continue onto the UEFA Champions’ League stage.
