Vladimir Gerasimov has joined the CSKA Moscow reserve team coaching staff.
2005 UEFA Cup winners, CSKA Moscow, finished in second place in the Russian Premier League last year behind champions Zenit and will be competing in the UEFA Champions’ League this year.
35-year-old Gerasimov moves to the Russian Premier League club after several years as manager of FC Rossiyanka, FC Ocean and most recently as Head of the Department in the Russian Football Union, responsible for the development of the coaching methodology of each of the Russian National Teams.
In his career as a player Gerasimov spent time in the Premier Leagues of Russia with Krylya Sovetov and Kuban and in Bulgaria with Levski Sofia and Cherno More. During that time he has had the opportunity to work with high-profile coaches from various countries and that international experience will hold him in good stead in his coaching career.
