Russian International, Andrey Karyaka, will play for Russian Premier League team Saturn until the end of the season after they agreed a loan deal with Benfica.
Karyaka signed for Benfica in a high-profile transfer in the summer of 2005. Despite only playing four first team games so far this season for the Portuguese giants, the Russian midfielder has performed well, scoring two goals in those games. Benfica won each of the four games which Karyaka was involved in and the team scored three goals in each of those wins. This included the 3-0 home win against Celtic in the UEFA Champions’ League in which Karyaka scored the third goal for his team. Karyaka’s loan move to Saturn may have a positive effect on the player’s international ambitions as Head Coach, Guus Hiddink, will have a better chance of monitoring Karyaka’s performances in the Russian Premier League.
