Newly appointed FC Rossiyanka Head Coach, Vladimir Gerasimov, has continued his good run of results in the club’s pre-season games with a convincing 6:0 win over Charlton Athletic Women’s Team. The result is even more significant given the fact that Charlton are currently in second place in the English Women’s Premier League running closely behind Arsenal. The game was played at Charlton Atheltic’s football academy in London.
FC Rossiyanka’s trip to London was organised to coincide with the Russian National Team’s friendly game against England played in Milton Keynes on 8 March. Most of FC Rossiyanka’s squad is also a member of the Russian National team and they were joined by the rest of the club’s squad for the game against Charlton. FC Rossiyanka fly back to Moscow on 14 March and will continue their pre-season with more games against difficult opponents including against Swedish champions, UMEA, who will meet English champions, Arsenal, in the UEFA Women’s Cup next month.
