Babatunde Luqmon Adekunle “Lucky” and Minas Osmani made an impressive debut in the UEFA Cup with FC Rabotnicki.
After good wins against Croatian and Slovenian opposition in the first two UEFA Cup rounds, they were drawn against English Premier League side, Bolton.
A 1-1 draw in the first leg in Skopje set up an intriguing second leg at the Reebok Stadium. Rabotnicki produced a courageous performance in a scoreless first half, but Bolton eventually showed their superiority when Nicolas Anelka struck in the 67th minute to end Rabotnicki’s UEFA Cup dream.
Despite the loss, this was a positive step forward in the careers of Adekunle and Osmani who continue their impressive progress.
