FC Rossiyanka managed by Head Coach, Vladimir Gerasimov, outclassed their opponents in the first group-stage of the UEFA Women’s Cup. They were drawn in a group with the champions of Ukraine, Serbia and Georgia and won the group convincingly with a 100% record of three wins out of three without conceding a goal in the process.
In the second group-stage FC Rossiyanka will meet the Romanian and Belarus champions, but the group favourites undoubtedly are the Swedish Champions, Umea who reached the UEFA Cup Final last season with their array of international stars.
Last year FC Rossiyanka went out at this stage of the competition losing to Arsenal and Brondby and it will be interesting to see if the team has made progress over the last 12 months.
